Biography
Tripp Davis, an NCAA All-American selection and a member of the 1989 national championship team, founded and leads Tripp Davis and Associates. Despite being one of the top amateur golfers, his aspirations were in golf course architecture. Today, his firm is known for executing a limited number of projects at a time to maintain focus and deliver superior results. The firm's designs are backed by a thorough understanding of the game, the heritage of the land, and an uncompromised attention to detail, resulting in golf courses that exceed expectations and endure through time.
Educated in Landscape Architecture at Oklahoma University, Davis brings to his work an environmental consciousness, striving to work with the land as much as possible. His approach to design involves minimal interference with natural terrain, moving only as much dirt as necessary for strategy and drainage. Hence, his design approach could be best described as minimalist and naturalist.
Davis's unique expertise in the history of golf and golf architecture complements his skills as a player. This combination provides him with unique insights in the subtle nuances of strategy, allowing him to design courses that cater to players across all skill levels. His commitment to each project is reflected in his personal dedication to every client he works with.
